Lucknow Landlord Held for Rape, Blackmail of Widow Tenant

A shocking case of sexual assault, illegal confinement, and blackmail has emerged from Lucknow, leading to the arrest of a landlord by the city police. The incident, reported under the jurisdiction of the PGI police station, involves a widow who was allegedly subjected to a prolonged ordeal by her landlord and his family members.

Ordeal Began with Spiked Food and Drink

According to the victim's complaint, her nightmare started when the landlord mixed sedatives into her coffee and food. After she lost consciousness, the accused allegedly raped her. In a premeditated act to exert long-term control, he recorded obscene videos and photographs of the assault during this time.

Blackmail and Repeated Assaults Over 15 Days

Using the explicit recordings as leverage, the accused then blackmailed the woman. He threatened to leak the content online, which forced her into repeated sexual assaults over a span of approximately 15 days. To prevent her from seeking any external help, the victim alleged that the accused and his family members kept her under illegal house arrest within the rented premises.

The brave survivor eventually managed to escape the house and reach her parental home, where she confided in her family about the trauma. However, even after she vacated the room, the harassment did not stop. The accused reportedly contacted her by phone, repeating threats to make the videos go viral.

Abduction and Final Approach to Police

The victim further alleged that the accused later abducted her, took her to a hotel, and sexually assaulted her again. Following this escalating terror, the widow, accompanied by her minor daughter, finally approached the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the South Zone to lodge a formal complaint.

Acting on the directives of DCP South Zone, the police promptly registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the landlord and his associates. DCP Agarwal confirmed to the Times of India that the accused landlord has been arrested and taken into custody. The FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

"We have arrested and taken the accused landlord into custody, and an FIR was lodged against him and his associates under relevant sections of the BNS. A detailed investigation is currently underway," DCP Agarwal stated. The police are now conducting a thorough probe into all the allegations made by the survivor.
