Lucknow University Implements Anti-Conversion Measures on Campus
Lucknow University Launches Anti-Forced Conversion Framework

Lucknow: The Governor's office has directed all higher education institutes in Uttar Pradesh to implement preventive mechanisms against forced or unlawful religious conversion on campuses. Acting on the order, Lucknow University has rolled out a framework combining awareness, vigilance, counselling and security measures across its campus.

Mentor-Mentee Sessions and Awareness

Under the initiative, mentor-mentee sessions will now include structured awareness discussions to sensitise students about coercion and inducement. The university has also activated student welfare cells and anti-radicalisation mechanisms to monitor student well-being through regular interaction and feedback systems, said LU spokesperson Mukul Srivastava.

Counselling Centres for Support

Dedicated and confidential counselling centres will provide support to students facing mental pressure or suspicious influence. These centres aim to ensure safe reporting and timely intervention, he added.
