Ludhiana Brothers Escape Carjacking Gang in Bhamian Khurd Village
Ludhiana brothers escape armed carjacking attempt

A terrifying attempt at carjacking and robbery was thwarted by the quick reflexes of a driver in Ludhiana's outskirts, turning a routine commute into a heart-stopping escape from an armed gang.

Brave Escape From Armed Ambush

The incident occurred when Sunny Bansal and his younger brother, Rohit, were returning to their GK Estate home after work. As they neared a local government school in Bhamian Khurd village, their path was suddenly blocked by a group of five men. The assailants, brandishing sharp-edged weapons and a firearm, attempted to force the vehicle to a complete stop.

Displaying remarkable presence of mind, Sunny Bansal, who was behind the wheel, did not panic. Instead of stopping, he skillfully manoeuvred the car around the suspects who were trying to blockade the road and accelerated to flee the scene. As the brothers sped away to safety, they reported hearing a gunshot fired in their direction.

Police Investigation Hampered by Challenges

Following the narrow escape, the Bansal brothers immediately reported the crime to the Jamalpur police. In his statement to the authorities, Sunny Bansal recounted, "The accused tried to block the way to prevent us from moving ahead. They flashed weapons to threaten us, but we managed to escape."

The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charges include snatching, attempt to commit an offense, and criminal acts committed with common intention. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sahib Singh, the investigating officer, confirmed that local CCTV footage has been reviewed. However, the investigation faced an early setback due to poor weather conditions and the darkness of the area, which resulted in the cameras failing to capture clear images of the attackers or their escape route.

Ongoing Probe and Search for Witnesses

Authorities are continuing their probe into the alarming incident. The police are actively seeking any witnesses who may have been in the Bhamian Khurd area at the time of the attack. This case highlights concerns about armed criminal activity on the outskirts of Ludhiana and the bravery required by ordinary citizens to confront such threats.

The successful escape of the Bansal brothers underscores the importance of staying calm under extreme duress. While the police investigation continues, the community remains alert as the search for the five accused men goes on.
