Ludhiana murder case: Three more arrested, vehicles seized

In a significant development in the Machhiwara murder case, the Ludhiana police have arrested three more individuals, bringing the total number of arrests to seven. The police also seized two vehicles and weapons used in the crime.

Details of the Arrests

The newly arrested accused have been identified as Gurvinder Singh Gindu and Jaspreet Singh Jassa, residents of Haidon Bet village, and Satvir Singh Shammi from Lakhowal Kalan. The arrests were made a day after the police had initially filed a case against 23 persons in connection with the murder.

According to SP headquarters, Khanna, Harpinder Kaur, multiple police teams were constituted and deployed across Punjab and other states following the incident. She confirmed that the police have so far arrested four persons in the case, with the main accused, Davinderpal Singh Jaila of Bairsal Kalan village, being taken into custody on Saturday.

Ongoing Investigations

The police have detained more than ten suspects for questioning. A police officer stated that some of the accused are believed to have gone underground and may have sought refuge in other states. Raids are currently underway to apprehend them.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred on May 1 at around 6:30 PM when the Machhiwara Police Station received information about a clash between two groups in Saini Enclave Colony. Upon receiving the alert, police personnel, along with forensic and dog squad teams, rushed to the spot.

According to the police, Gagandeep Singh Billa of Hedon Bet village died on the spot, while Manpreet Singh Mani sustained serious injuries and was admitted to PGI Chandigarh, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
