Police Operation Details
ADCP-1 Sameer Verma, addressing a press conference, stated that a police team was conducting patrolling to monitor suspicious persons and vehicles when they received a tip-off about the gang. The informant revealed that Karan, Phuman, and Rahul were addicted to drugs. After snatching valuables from residents, they would sell the items to purchase drugs. Additionally, they stole motorcycles, which they used to commit mobile snatchings.
Verma explained that the police set up a naka near Ambedkar Bhawan. Upon intercepting the suspects, they were signalled to stop for checking. During the search, 12 snatched mobile phones and a bike were recovered. Subsequently, three more motorcycles were seized, which had been stolen by the gang in the recent past. An investigation is underway to identify the owners of the vehicles.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced in court, and the police will seek their remand. Karan and Rahul have prior criminal records.
