A 26-year-old man died after a speeding truck crushed him on Dadri-Bisahda Road in the Jarcha area on Saturday. The victim, identified as Dharmendra, was returning to his village after delivering lunch to his father at a workshop when the accident took place.
Accident Details
The incident occurred around 12 pm. Police stated that the speeding truck approached from behind and rammed into Dharmendra. The impact was so severe that he was run over, resulting in his death on the spot.
The truck involved in the accident was seized, but the driver fled the scene, an officer confirmed.
Villagers Protest
Soon after the accident, villagers blocked the Dadri-Bisahda Road in protest. They alleged that such accidents have become frequent on this route due to negligent driving by heavy vehicles. The protesters demanded strict action against violators and better traffic regulation to prevent further loss of life.
Police from Jarcha station arrived at the spot and persuaded the villagers to lift the road blockade, restoring normal traffic movement.
Legal Proceedings
In an official statement, police confirmed that the accident involved a truck bearing registration number RJ 32 GC 6088. The victim’s body was sent for autopsy after completing necessary legal formalities.
Police added that further legal proceedings are under way, and efforts are being made to ensure strict action in the case, an officer said.
