A 28-year-old man was brutally hacked to death with a sharp-edged weapon in Dewas city's Balgarh Square area during the early hours of Tuesday. The murder, allegedly stemming from an old rivalry, sent shockwaves through the locality. The accused was apprehended within hours of the incident.

Incident Details

Industrial Area police station in-charge Shashikant Chourasia reported that the victim, identified as Mukesh, was employed at a private company in the city. His body was discovered lying in a pool of blood behind a paan kiosk in Balgarh around 4:45 am.

A police team from the Industrial Area station immediately rushed to the scene. A blood-stained weapon, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered from the location.

Cause of Attack

Preliminary investigations revealed that Mukesh and the accused, Bhavesh Choudhary, were neighbours with a long-standing dispute. Police stated that the two engaged in a heated argument around 4 am, which rapidly escalated into violence. In a fit of rage, Bhavesh allegedly attacked Mukesh repeatedly with the sharp weapon, killing him on the spot.

Arrest and Investigation

Chourasia confirmed that Bhavesh was detained shortly after the incident and is currently being interrogated. The victim's body has been sent for postmortem examination. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details about the motive and the sequence of events.
