Man Stabbed to Death in Shalimar Bagh, One Arrested

A 50-year-old man was stabbed to death in northwest Delhi's Shalimar Bagh area following a dispute, with police arresting one suspect and searching for two others, officials reported on Saturday.

Incident Details

The stabbing occurred on the night of June 19-20, when a PCR call alerted police to the scene near Jhuggi No. T-40 in Indira Colony T-Huts. Officers found blood stains and other evidence at the location.

The victim, identified as Bijender, also known as Behra, was rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial (BJRM) Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Suspects and Investigation

A case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at the Shalimar Bagh police station. Investigators revealed that Bijender was mentally challenged and known for aggressive behavior, frequently engaging in disputes with local residents.

According to police, the incident began when Bijender allegedly tried to attack the sister of a local resident named Adil, alias Joota. This sparked a quarrel, during which Adil and his associates assaulted Bijender, inflicting stab wounds.

Police arrested Aman, 22, in connection with the murder. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects: Adil, alias Joota, and Lala, alias Surender. Further investigation is underway, police said.
