A tragic incident of abduction and murder has shaken Kapsaad village in Meerut, where a 50-year-old mother lost her life while trying to protect her daughter from kidnappers. The woman, identified as Sunita Devi, later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
Attack Near Canal Bridge
The horrifying event unfolded on Thursday morning when Sunita was walking to the fields with her 20-year-old daughter. Near a canal bridge, they were intercepted by a group of individuals. The group included village residents Paras Rajput (25) and Sunil Kumar, along with several other unidentified accomplices.
According to police reports, the accused attempted to forcibly take the young woman away. When Sunita Devi bravely resisted and tried to stop them, the attackers allegedly abused her and then struck her on the head with a sharp-edged weapon. She collapsed immediately, suffering critical injuries, while the assailants fled the scene with her daughter.
Police Launch Massive Manhunt
Hearing the commotion, local residents rushed to the spot and alerted the police. Sunita was quickly taken to a nearby private hospital, but she died during treatment. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada confirmed that a case of murder and abduction has been registered. The police have formed five dedicated teams to trace the abducted woman and arrest all the accused involved in this heinous crime.
The main accused, Paras Rajput, who worked as an assistant to a local doctor, is currently absconding along with the other miscreants. A widespread search operation is underway to apprehend them.
A Family Left in Mourning
The incident has left the community in shock and a family devastated. Sunita Devi is survived by her five children - three sons and two daughters. The brutal attack, which claimed a mother's life in her attempt to save her child, has highlighted grave concerns about law and order in the region.
Police authorities have assured that no effort will be spared in bringing the perpetrators to justice and safely recovering the abducted young woman. The investigation is ongoing.
