In a swift operation, Patna police successfully located a woman Block Technology Manager (BTM) who had been reported missing, bringing the case to a close within a day. The officer, identified as Aaryma Dipti, posted at Athmalgola block in Patna district, was traced to Saran district after an intensive search based on her husband's complaint.
The Disappearance and Swift Police Action
The sequence of events began on Friday when Dipti, an officer in the agriculture department, lost contact with her family. According to officials, she was last in touch with them around 4 pm on Friday after returning home from work. Her husband, Shubham Kumar, a chartered accountant, filed a formal written complaint on Saturday, prompting immediate police action.
Utilising a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence, a police team sprang into action. Initial technical traces placed her phone in the Usmanpur area under Athmagola police station on Friday evening. By the next morning, her phone location had pinged in Fatuha. Further clues emerged from CCTV footage at Bakhtiyarpur railway station, which captured her movements.
The Discovery and Explanation
The search culminated successfully in the early hours of Sunday. Police recovered Aaryma Dipti from Saran district around 4 am. Upon questioning, she provided a simple explanation for her disappearance. Barh SDPO-I Anand Kumar Singh stated that Dipti revealed she had travelled to Masrakh in Saran district to surprise her friend, Anjali Kumari alias Goldi Kumari, on the occasion of her birthday.
"She left for Saran without informing anyone," the SDPO said. Dipti clarified that her cellphone had switched off due to a low battery, which prevented her from contacting her family members. She also confirmed that she had attended her office in Athmalgola on the day she went missing.
Police Debunk Rumours, Case Closed
Addressing speculation and rumours that had begun to circulate, SDPO Singh was categorical. He stated that the investigation found no evidence to support claims that Dipti was accompanied by a male companion or lover. "Neither technical nor human sources supported these claims, and the officer made no mention of any such person in her statement," Singh emphasised.
With Dipti's safe return and her statement recorded, the police have officially closed the matter. The couple, who had tied the knot on December 4 in Begusarai district and honeymooned in Nepal before returning on December 20, are now reunited.
