Nashik Court Order June 25 in TCS Harassment Case

Nashik: The Nashik Road sessions court judge, KG Joshi, will pronounce his order on June 25 regarding the bail pleas of three accused in the TCS sexual harassment and hurting religious sentiments case. The case was registered at the Deolali Camp police station on March 26.

Current Status of Accused

All three accused are currently in judicial custody. This includes a pregnant woman who evaded arrest for 42 days before being apprehended in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on May 7.

Charges Against the Accused

The main accused has been charged with concealing his marital status and allegedly sexually exploiting the complainant, a co-worker, on the false promise of marriage. Another co-accused, his colleague, faces allegations of sexually harassing the complainant in the office lobby and other places. The third accused, a woman employee, has been booked for making remarks that allegedly hurt the complainant’s religious sentiments.

Bail Hearing Details

After their arrest, the trio filed bail applications. During the hearing on June 19, defence counsel argued for bail, stating that the investigation had been completed and the chargesheet had already been filed, making further custody unnecessary.

Public prosecutor Vijay Gaikwad opposed the pleas, submitting evidence to suggest that the accused acted in concert to commit the offences. Speaking to TOI, Gaikwad said the court was apprised that if the three were granted bail, they could tamper with evidence and pressurise witnesses, adversely affecting the case. He said since the woman accused had previously been on the run for 42 days, granting her bail posed a risk and she could potentially aid the other accused in running away. He also informed the court that the accused have the backing of a political party.

Next Hearing

After hearing the arguments, the court reserved its decision and scheduled the next hearing for June 25.
