Nashik: 19-Year-Old & Uncle Arrested for Murder Over Family Dispute
Nashik: Youth, Uncle Held for Murder in Mhasrul

In a tragic incident in Nashik, a 23-year-old man was brutally murdered on Saturday night, leading to the arrest of two family members and triggering a retaliatory attack on Sunday. The Mhasrul police have taken a 19-year-old youth and his 38-year-old uncle into custody for the alleged crime.

Details of the Fatal Assault

The victim, identified as Ravi Ushile, a resident of Peth Road, was talking with his friend, Samadhan Gorhe, near Gajvakra Nagar in Mhasrul, Panchavati, at around 11:30 pm on Saturday. According to the police complaint filed by Gorhe, they were suddenly attacked by Santosh Gavli (38) and his nephew, Om Sandeep Gavli (19).

"Om Gavli and his uncle, Santosh, beat Ravi with a wooden stick and attacked him with a chopper. Ravi suffered severe injuries and succumbed to his death," stated Gorhe, who was present during the horrific incident. The alleged motive behind the attack was that the deceased was troubling a girl from the accused's family.

Retaliatory Violence Erupts

The murder did not mark the end of the violence. On Sunday at 3:30 pm, tensions boiled over as a group of approximately 25 people targeted the house of the younger accused, Om Gavli. In the attack, the assailants damaged the family's motorcycle.

Following this, Om Gavli's younger brother approached the Mhasrul police station and registered a separate complaint regarding the mob attack. Senior Police Inspector Ankush Chintaman confirmed the development but noted, "No one was arrested in the second case so far."

Police Investigation Underway

The Mhasrul police are actively investigating both cases. While the primary murder suspects, Santosh Gavli and Om Sandeep Gavli, were arrested on Sunday morning, the search is on for the individuals involved in the subsequent retaliatory attack on the accused's house. The police are piecing together the sequence of events and the exact nature of the dispute that led to the fatal confrontation.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the Mhasrul area of Panchavati, highlighting how personal disputes can escalate into extreme violence, resulting in loss of life and further community unrest.
