Elderly man dies after parking dispute push in Noida, IITian neighbour booked
Parking dispute: 77-year-old dies after push, IITian held

A 77-year-old retired bank employee died hours after he was allegedly pushed to the ground by his neighbour during a fight over parking in Sector 15 on Thursday night. An FIR was registered against the accused — a 30-year-old IITian employed with a private company — for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Details of the Incident

Police said the victim, Prakash Chandra (77), and the accused, Ansh Goyal (30), lived in adjoining houses and had been involved in a long-running dispute over parking in the common open space outside their buildings.

Around 10pm on Thursday, when Goyal returned from office and began parking his motorcycle next to Chandra's two-wheeler outside the latter's house, the elderly man objected. The argument escalated within minutes.

“The two exchanged heated words. At one point, Ansh pushed Chandra to the ground. He slumped and suffered injuries to his hands and elbow,” said Amit Kumar Maan, SHO of Phase 1 police station.

Medical Emergency and Death

Hearing the commotion, family members rushed out and took an injured Chandra to a nearby hospital. Police said he was conscious and speaking on the way. At the hospital, doctors even conducted an ECG before beginning treatment. But his condition deteriorated late at night. He died around 2.30am on Friday.

“Prima facie, it appears he may have suffered internal head injuries. The cause of death will be confirmed only after the autopsy reports are ready,” Maan said.

Legal Action

An FIR was registered against Goyal under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 352(3) (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of BNS. Police said statements of family members and neighbours are being recorded.
