In a significant 24-hour drive against crime, the Patna Police has achieved major success with the arrest of 39 wanted criminals from the city's west zone. The operation, marked by coordinated raids and sustained pressure, also saw the execution of numerous court orders and the tracing of missing individuals.
Massive Arrests and Warrants Executed
City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh confirmed on Wednesday that the police teams worked relentlessly over the last day. Thirty-nine individuals, wanted in serious criminal cases across the west zone, were taken into custody. In a parallel action, the police executed 36 non-bailable warrants and property attachment orders issued by courts. The intense police pressure also compelled 11 other accused persons to surrender directly in court.
Missing Persons Found, Liquor Case Registered
Beyond the arrests, the police action yielded other positive results. Three missing persons were successfully traced in cases registered at the IIT, Rani Talab, and Shahpur police stations. In a separate but notable incident, police clarified an action that had gone viral on social media. A video alleged that Shastri Nagar police raided a house with an accused and threatened a child.
However, police explained that the action stemmed from a complaint by Gautam Kumar of Nalanda, who reported on December 23 that his wife was forcibly taken by her in-laws. When a patrol team was initially denied access to the residence, a formal case was lodged. During a subsequent visit, officers recovered 1.5 litres of liquor from the premises. Consequently, a case was registered against the homeowner under the stringent Bihar Prohibition Act.

The simultaneous focus on apprehending serious offenders, enforcing court orders, and addressing public complaints showcases a multi-pronged strategy.
