Police Recover 10 Country-Made Guns in Kandhamal Forest

Berhampur: In a significant operation, police recovered 10 country-made firearms from two forest locations in Kandhamal district on Sunday, following a tip-off. This brings the total number of seized weapons to 12 over the past three days.

Recovery Details

According to Shubham Bhosale, Baliguda Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO), seven country-made guns were seized from the Ladargaon forest area under Tumudibandha police station limits, while three were recovered from the Partamaha jungle in Daringbadi. No arrests have been made in connection with these recoveries.

Police Investigation

Police suspect that miscreants concealed the firearms in the jungle for illegal hunting or other unlawful activities. "We have initiated legal actions and are trying to identify the individuals involved," said the SDPO. He added that patrolling in forest areas has been intensified after a 33-year-old man was shot dead by two miscreants in a forest under Belaghar police station limits on Friday.
