Unidentified assailants opened fire at a house in Shimlapuri, Ludhiana, on the night of June 23, 2026, damaging two vehicles before fleeing. The incident occurred at the residence of Ramesh Kumar, a property dealer living in Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Shimlapuri.

According to police reports, four men arrived outside Kumar's house and fired approximately 10 to 12 rounds. They also threw bricks at a Ford Figo car and fired bullets at it, causing significant damage. A Jeep parked outside was also vandalized. The attackers then fled the scene.

Victim's Account and Police Response

In his complaint to the police, Ramesh Kumar stated that he was sleeping with his family when he heard gunshots. He woke up and went to the roof to investigate, where he saw the four unidentified men firing shots. The assailants fired about 10 rounds, according to Kumar's estimate.

Police from the Shimlapuri station arrived at the spot after receiving information and launched an investigation. A case has been registered against four unidentified accused. Authorities have seized footage from nearby CCTV cameras to aid in identifying the suspects.

"The accused fired approximately 10 to 12 rounds and also threw bricks at my car," Kumar said in his complaint, as per police sources. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.

The attack has raised concerns about safety in the Shimlapuri area. The property dealer's family was home at the time but reported no injuries. The damaged vehicles include a Ford Figo car and a Jeep, both vandalized with bricks and bullets.
