Pune Software Engineer Suicide: Husband Booked

A 27-year-old software engineer died by suicide on Thursday afternoon after jumping from the third floor of a residential building in the Manikbaug area of Pune. The victim's brother filed a complaint with the Sinhagad Road police alleging that she was driven to take the extreme step due to continuous harassment by her husband and mother-in-law.

Case Registered Under Abetment of Suicide

The police have registered a case under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the deceased's husband, who is also a software engineer, along with his mother and other relatives. The case was lodged on the same day.

Background of the Couple

According to a Sinhagad Road police officer, the victim and her husband met while working at a software company and got married in November 2024. The complainant stated that the victim was subjected to harassment over trivial issues and was occasionally physically assaulted by her husband, mother-in-law, and other family members.

Frustrated by the constant torment, the woman jumped to her death, the officer added.
