Jaisalmer: A man in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district died by suicide on Sunday, a day after filing a police complaint alleging sexual harassment of his minor daughter, police said.
Incident Details
The man, a resident of the Lathi police station area, lodged the report on Saturday night, accusing a boy from the village of sexually harassing his daughter over a period of time. Police officials stated that they assured him action would be taken by Sunday morning.
On Sunday, the man allegedly hanged himself inside a room at his house. When he did not open the door, his wife alerted neighbors, who broke it open and found him hanging, police said.
Post-Mortem and Investigation
The body was taken to Pokhran hospital for post-mortem and later handed over to the family. The family stated that he had been under prolonged mental stress. Police registered an unnatural death case and said an investigation is underway.
