The Ranchi police have taken urgent action in the case of two young children who vanished from the Dhurwa area, announcing a substantial cash reward for information leading to their safe recovery. A special investigation team has been mobilized to spearhead the search operation.
Urgent Search for Missing Siblings
The two siblings, aged just five and four years old, went missing from within the limits of the Dhurwa police station on Friday. According to details, the children had left their home around 2:30 pm to buy biscuits but never returned. Their distressed parents conducted a frantic search in the local area for four to five hours before finally approaching the police late in the night to file a report.
Police Launch Intensive Investigation
In response to the alarming disappearance, Ranchi City Superintendent of Police Paras Rana confirmed the formation of a 15-member Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT is conducting raids at multiple locations and meticulously examining CCTV footage from the area. The photographs of the missing children have been circulated widely on the national portal for missing children and across relevant WhatsApp groups to maximize reach.
"We are also in touch with the Patna police for coordinated efforts," stated SP Rana. To incentivize public cooperation, the police have declared a reward of Rs 51,000 for any person who provides credible information about the children's whereabouts. Dhurwa police station Officer-in-Charge Ram Kumar Verma has also made appeals on social media platforms, urging citizens to come forward with any leads.
Separate Kidnapping Case Resolved
In a related but separate development, a man who was allegedly kidnapped earlier in the week from the Jagannathpur police station limits has safely returned home. Mohammad Minhaz Alam was reportedly taken to Jodhpur in Rajasthan by an acquaintance after a dispute involving a hidden truck.
SP Rana explained, "Alam was released after he facilitated the recovery of the truck." His wife, Firozi Parveen, had previously filed a First Information Report (FIR) stating her husband was kidnapped and that the family received a ransom demand of Rs 25 lakh. The police are continuing their investigation into this incident as well.
The Ranchi police's dual focus highlights their active efforts in addressing serious crimes in the region, with the search for the two young children remaining the top priority.
