A tragic incident occurred on Friday at an Indian Bank branch in Aurangabad district, where a recovery agent was shot dead after a security guard's firearm discharged under mysterious circumstances. The event took place around 10:30 am at the bank's Uchauli branch, located within the Madanpur police station area.
Details of the Incident
The victim, Rajendra Paswan, a recovery agent and resident of Madhav Khap village, sustained critical injuries after being struck by a bullet allegedly fired from the double-barrel gun of security guard Abhay Kumar Singh. Paswan was rushed to a government hospital in Madanpur, where he was declared dead upon arrival.
Conflicting Accounts
Family members of the deceased have alleged that the guard deliberately opened fire, while the guard claims the weapon discharged accidentally during cleaning. The police have taken the guard into custody and seized the firearm for investigation.
Police Investigation
Madanpur Station House Officer (SHO) Rajesh Kumar confirmed that the guard has been detained and an FIR is being registered based on the complaint submitted by the victim's family. "The exact circumstances leading to the firing are being investigated," Rajesh stated. Police are probing whether the discharge was accidental or intentional.
