Bhopal: A routine morning walk turned into a traumatic experience for the wife of a retired BSNL chief general manager (CGM) when a man snatched her gold chain and diamond pendant in the Kolar area early Thursday morning. Despite a chase by a passerby, the suspect managed to escape.
Incident Details
Police reported that the complainant, a 60-year-old woman, was out for her regular morning walk around 4:30 am in the colony when she noticed a young man approaching from the opposite direction. Sensing danger, she instinctively covered the gold chain and diamond pendant around her neck with her hand.
However, the youth allegedly lunged at her and attempted to snatch the jewelry. The woman resisted, but he pushed aside her hand and fled with the 12-gram gold chain and the attached diamond pendant.
Police Investigation
Kolar SHO Sanjay Soni confirmed that a case has been registered, and teams are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the accused. Police suspect the snatcher may have been scouting the area before committing the crime.
Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The investigation is ongoing.
