RPF Arrests Trafficker, Saves Four Teenage Girls in Ranchi Station Operation

In a decisive action at Ranchi railway station, the Railway Protection Force has successfully intercepted a human trafficking attempt. The RPF team rescued four minor girls from the custody of a trafficker during a search operation conducted on platform number two.

Swift Operation Leads to Arrest

The RPF carried out the raid on Monday, resulting in the immediate arrest of the accused individual. Authorities identified the trafficker as Akash Majhi, who hails from Betia district in Bihar. During interrogation, Majhi confessed to his involvement in the trafficking scheme.

He admitted that he was transporting the four girls, all aged between sixteen and seventeen years, to Tirupur in Tamil Nadu. Majhi revealed that a contractor had hired him for this purpose, and he received payment for taking the minors to their destination.

Evidence and Promises Uncovered

Investigators discovered compelling evidence on Majhi's mobile phone. The RPF found screenshots showing payments from the contractor, totaling nineteen thousand rupees. This digital evidence strongly supports the trafficking allegations against the accused.

The rescued girls provided crucial information about their situation. They told RPF officials that the trafficker had promised them employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu. The offer included monthly salaries of ten thousand rupees each, which lured the teenagers into this dangerous situation.

Aftermath and Legal Proceedings

Following the arrest, authorities have taken appropriate action for both the accused and the victims. The RPF has handed over Akash Majhi to the anti-human trafficking unit for further investigation and legal proceedings. This unit will handle the case with the seriousness it demands.

The four rescued minors have received immediate care and protection. RPF officials have transferred the girls to Childline, an organization dedicated to child welfare and safety. This ensures the teenagers receive proper support and counseling after their traumatic experience.

This operation highlights the vigilance of the Railway Protection Force in combating human trafficking networks. The successful intervention at Ranchi railway station prevented these young girls from falling into exploitative situations far from their homes.
