Sasaram Family Tragedy Leaves Three Dead
A devastating incident unfolded in Rohtas district late Monday night when a man allegedly shot his wife and father before taking his own life. The tragic event occurred in Dehra village under Bhans police station area, claiming three lives instantly.
Sequence of the Tragic Events
According to police reports, the incident took place around 12:30 am on Monday night. The accused, identified as Amit Singh, first shot his wife, Neetu Devi, inside their home. The gunfire created panic among other family members, who immediately locked themselves in a room for safety.
After shooting his wife, Amit moved into the courtyard with the firearm. His father, Shaligram Singh, attempted to intervene and stop his son, but Amit turned the weapon on him as well. Moments after shooting his father, Amit turned the gun on himself, completing the tragic sequence of events.
Police Investigation and Family Statements
Police received information about the shooting early Tuesday morning and quickly responded to the scene. Superintendent of Police Roshan Kumar confirmed that the Bikramganj SDPO arrived with a police team shortly after being notified.
Bullet injury marks were found on all three victims' heads, according to initial forensic examination. Amit's elder brother, Rajesh Singh, provided crucial information to investigators, stating that Amit had been mentally disturbed for some time. Police indicated that preliminary investigation supports this claim.
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams have collected evidence from the crime scene, and police have seized the firearm used in the incident. The bodies have been sent to Sadar Hospital in Sasaram for postmortem examination as investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances leading to this family tragedy.
