Private School Head Killed in Ludhiana Village

A 50-year-old private school head, Iqbal Singh Dhaliwal, was found murdered at Jandiali village in Ludhiana's Jamalpur area late on Sunday night, officials confirmed on Monday. A sharp injury mark was discovered on his neck.

Dhaliwal ran Dhaliwal School from his residence, offering education up to Class 8. He was also a lawyer by profession. His son, Yuvi, told police that two men entered their house late at night and held both him and his father hostage before assaulting them.

Son Recounts Hostage Ordeal

According to Yuvi, the intruders struck his father with a sharp weapon, resulting in his death. After the attack, Yuvi raised an alarm, prompting local residents to rush to the spot and inform the police. The deceased's wife was not at home at the time, as she had traveled out of state to appear for law examinations.

Police from Jamalpur police station and CIA staff arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. A post-mortem examination will be conducted only after the wife's return.

ACP Inderjit Singh Boparai stated that evidence is being collected from the crime scene, and footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being examined to establish the motive and identify the accused. Police are exploring all angles, including personal enmity and robbery.
