A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 66-year-old man in Belthangady taluk on Sunday. The victim, identified as Sundar Shetty, lost control of his two-wheeler, leading to fatal injuries.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The unfortunate event occurred on the Venur-Naravi road, specifically on a slightly sloping stretch near the Sri Vinayaka Srirama Bhajana Mandir in Andinje village. Shetty was travelling from Venur towards Naravi when the accident took place.
According to the complaint filed by Roshan, the rider allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to negligent riding. This caused the two-wheeler to skid violently. Sundar Shetty was thrown onto the road along with his vehicle.
Severe Injuries and Rush to Hospital
The impact of the fall resulted in devastating injuries for the senior citizen. He sustained severe head injuries, including bleeding, and also suffered abrasions on his legs. Bystanders found him unconscious at the accident spot.
Acting swiftly, the complainant and others rushed Shetty to the government hospital in Moodbidri for urgent medical treatment. However, despite their efforts, doctors at the hospital declared him dead upon arrival.
Police Case Registered
Following the tragic outcome, the Venur police have taken official action. Based on the complaint received, they have registered a case to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal road accident. The local community has been left in shock by the sudden loss.
