SIT Intensifies Hunt for Kidnappers in Jamshedpur Case
The Special Investigation Team has made significant progress in the kidnapping case of an industrialist's son in Jamshedpur. Investigators are now concentrating their efforts on Prince Khan's criminal network. Police authorities believe this gang played a central role in the abduction.
Multiple Criminal Networks Under Scrutiny
Law enforcement agencies are not limiting their search to just one group. They are actively pursuing Bihar-based criminal organizations that operate from Muzaffarpur and Hajipur areas. These gangs have established notorious reputations for kidnapping individuals and demanding substantial ransom payments.
Initial investigation findings reveal important details about the crime. The kidnappers used a sports utility vehicle during the abduction of Kairav Gandhi. This 22-year-old victim is the son of prominent industrialist Devan Chandra Gandhi from Steel City.
Widespread Police Operations Across Districts
Separate police teams have launched coordinated raids across multiple locations. They are searching areas in Dhanbad, Hazaribag, and Koderma districts. The objective is to apprehend associates of Prince Khan, who authorities believe is currently operating from Dubai.
Police suspicion toward Khan's involvement stems from multiple factors. His henchmen previously fired gunshots at a timber merchant's residence in October 2025. This incident occurred within the Sitaramdera police station limits of Steel City.
Connecting Patterns Between Criminal Incidents
Official sources indicate the SIT has identified striking similarities between two separate cases. Investigators detected comparable patterns in both the shooting incident and the recent kidnapping. The timber merchant, Hare Ram Singh, received an extortion call from an international number before the attack on his property.
Several days after the threatening call, unidentified assailants fired gunshots outside Singh's residence. Prompt police intervention prevented the trader from paying any money to the criminals. Authorities successfully arrested four accomplices of the gang and confiscated their firearms during this operation.
Ransom Demands and Threats Emerge
The kidnapping case took a serious turn when industrialist Devan Chandra Gandhi received a ransom demand. An anonymous caller using an Indonesian number demanded five crore rupees on January 13. This was the same day his son Kairav was kidnapped.
The kidnappers issued a brutal ultimatum along with their financial demand. They threatened to kill the victim if the ransom payment was not made within forty-eight hours. This deadline created immense pressure on both the family and investigating authorities.
Police Maintain Strategic Silence on Details
Meanwhile, senior police officials are exercising caution in their public statements. The Deputy Inspector General of Kolhan range, Anuranjan Kispotta, addressed the ongoing investigation. He stated that police teams are diligently working on the case but declined to share specific operational details.
"Our team is fully engaged in this investigation, and substantial work is progressing," Kispotta explained. "It would not be appropriate to disclose case particulars at this sensitive stage of the probe."
The investigation continues as authorities pursue multiple leads across different regions. Police remain determined to solve this high-profile kidnapping case that has shaken the industrial community of Jamshedpur.
