The victim has been identified as Ritu Kumar, a 16-year-old student of Class VIII. She was a resident of Bhisa village under the jurisdiction of the Mehsaul police station. Her lifeless body was found near Nahar Road on Wednesday, bearing a critical bullet injury.
According to preliminary reports from the police, Ritu had left her home on Tuesday night after receiving a call from friends. She did not return after that, causing her family to grow anxious. Her disappearance culminated in the grim discovery the following day.

While the investigation is in its early stages, the Mehsaul police have indicated that the murder might be connected to an old family feud. Separate Case: Nepali Nationals Arrested for Bike Theft
In an unrelated development on the same day, Sitamarhi police arrested two alleged motorcycle thieves from the Sursand police station area. The arrests took place in Nagar Parishad ward number 13.
The accused have been named as Arvind Kumar and Arvind Prasad, both hailing from the Mohattari district in neighbouring Nepal. The police team successfully recovered a stolen motorcycle from their possession.
The stolen bike belonged to Dr. Jitendra Prasad, from whose residence it was allegedly taken. The police are now interrogating the arrested individuals to trace other stolen vehicles and identify any accomplices involved in the theft ring.
