Final-Year Siddha Medical Student Found Dead in Rented Accommodation
A tragic incident has shaken the Sivaraj Siddha Medical College community in Salem. Varshini Varadaraj, a 22-year-old final-year student, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her rented house on Wednesday. The young woman, a native of Tirunelveli, was residing near the college with a classmate.
Sequence of Events Before the Tragedy
According to police sources, a complex personal situation preceded the incident. It is reported that Varshini was involved in a relationship with a married man. Her father, Varadaraj, had travelled to Salem and met her on Tuesday to discuss the matter. He reportedly left for his hometown on Tuesday evening after their conversation.
The grim discovery was made the following morning. On Wednesday, Varshini's classmate found her lifeless body in their shared room and immediately alerted the authorities. Officers from the Salem Steel Plant police station swiftly arrived at the scene to initiate preliminary inquiries.

The Salem police have registered a formal case and have launched a detailed investigation to unravel the exact cause of death. The body was sent to the Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital for a thorough postmortem examination.
