Six Congress women booked for remarks against Indore police

Indore: Six Mahila Congress functionaries were booked for making derogatory remarks against police personnel during a protest outside the collectorate on Friday. Congress workers were protesting over the rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination papers when police tried to stop them, prompting a party functionary, Shashi Hada, to use offensive words against the police personnel. A video of the altercation later went viral on social media.

Police Action

ACP Vijay Tiwari said that women Congress workers were protesting and tried to block the road. When they were asked to move aside, they started lashing out at the police officials present at the spot. “A case has been registered against six Congress workers --- Sonali Mimrot, Reeta Dagre, Roshni, Shashi Hada and others under various sections of BNS for wrongful confinement, rioting, disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant and defamation,” Tiwari said.
