Surat Woman Drugged, Blackmailed with Nude Videos

Surat: Singanpor police have booked three persons on charges of rape and criminal intimidation after a young woman alleged that one of the accused drugged her with spiked coffee, recorded a nude video while she was unconscious, and later used it to repeatedly sexually assault and blackmail her.

Incident Details

According to the complaint filed by the third-year undergraduate student, she came in contact with the main accused, Dipak, through Instagram in August 2025. After regular conversations online, the two met at a coffee shop in Katargam. The woman alleged that Dipak laced her coffee with an intoxicating substance and took her to an unknown location, where his uncle also arrived. While she was unconscious, the duo allegedly removed her clothes and recorded a nude video.

Blackmail and Assault

The complaint states that Dipak subsequently used the video to blackmail her, taking her to various hotels and sexually assaulting her multiple times. After she recently attained the age of 18, he allegedly began pressuring her to marry him. The woman further alleged that after the marriage was registered, he took her to his sister’s residence in Rajkot and later raped her again at a hotel in Amroli.

Police Action

Police have arrested the uncle of the main accused. Investigators said he was present when the video was recorded and is accused of behaving indecently with the complainant. The main accused, who is also associated with the diamond trade, is absconding.

Threats of Violence

The complainant stated that she was initially unwilling to marry Dipak. However, he allegedly showed her a video purportedly depicting another girl being branded on the tongue with a hot iron rod and threatened to subject her to similar torture if she refused. Fearing for her safety, she agreed to register the marriage at the Kamrej marriage registration office. Police said they are verifying the existence of the video and investigating whether it is genuine or generated using artificial intelligence (AI).
