Sub-Inspector Ashu Rao, the officiating Station House Officer (SHO) of Civil Lines, stated that it was too early to comment on the matter but confirmed that an investigation is actively underway.

This discovery comes just three days after another CCTV camera was found installed on a pole within the Sonepat railway station premises. The solar-powered camera was positioned on a high pole, enabling it to capture the movement of trains arriving and departing across all platforms. Following this find, the Kaushambi police in Ghaziabad arrested a six-member gang in connection with the case. One of the accused was brought to Sonepat, where he identified the camera on Wednesday, leading to its removal for further forensic analysis.
