Three Individuals Apprehended in Pernem for Violent Stabbing and Assault Incident
In a significant development, the Pernem police have taken three persons into custody following a violent altercation that resulted in a stabbing and severe physical assault. The incident, which unfolded in the Bhatwadi locality of Korgao, is reported to have stemmed from a pre-existing enmity between the parties involved.
Details of the Alleged Attack
According to official police reports, the complainant, identified as Mukand Dinanth Narse, filed a detailed complaint outlining the events that transpired on Sunday afternoon. The accused individuals—Rushikesh Santosh Narse (35), Snehal Santosh Narse (29), and Shubham Navnath Narse (30)—are alleged to have confronted Mukand and his cousin, Sachidanand Narse, at approximately 3 PM.
The confrontation quickly escalated into a violent assault. The trio reportedly subjected the victims to verbal abuse before one of them allegedly used a knife to stab Mukand. The attack did not stop there; the assailants are said to have further assaulted both Mukand and Sachidanand with a wooden staff, a plastic pipe, and through physical blows including punches and kicks. This brutal assault resulted in visible injuries and bleeding for the victims.
Additional Damages and Threats
In a further act of aggression, the attackers proceeded to damage the complainant's scooter, causing estimated financial losses of around Rs 15,000. Moreover, they issued threats of dire consequences to the victims, adding a layer of criminal intimidation to the already severe physical violence.
Legal Actions and Investigation
The Pernem police have registered a case against the three arrested individuals under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charges include voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and acting with common intention, reflecting the coordinated nature of the attack.
Police Sub-Inspector Sahil Naik is leading the investigation into this case, which highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address violent crimes in the region.
