At least three burglaries and three break-ins were reported in Siruganur in Trichy district over the past ten days, prompting police to form special teams and intensify night patrolling. Police have also advised residents to inform local stations when leaving their houses locked for extended periods.

Details of the Incidents

According to sources, in three of the cases, miscreants broke into homes and stole gold, cash, and other valuables while the owners were away. In the other three instances, thieves searched the houses for valuables but found nothing significant. Cases have been registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for house trespass and theft.

Police Response

Superintendent of Police Dongare Pravin Umesh stated that night patrolling has been intensified in and around Siruganur. “We have formed special teams to nab the suspects,” he said. It remains unclear whether the same group is behind all six incidents. Similar thefts have also been reported under police stations at Kollidam, Pulivalam, and Manachanallur.
