Accident Details
A tragic road accident on the Jhajjar-Bahadurgarh road near the police lines on Saturday claimed the lives of two young men and left another seriously injured. According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred when a car carrying Mukul, Nishant, and Deepak was rear-ended by a pickup vehicle. The force of the collision propelled their car into a stationary truck, causing critical injuries to all three occupants.
Victims and Injuries
The deceased have been identified as Mukul and Nishant. The injured, Deepak, has been admitted to a private hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. After the accident, police and an ambulance rushed the victims to the Civil Hospital in Jhajjar, where doctors declared Nishant dead on arrival. Mukul was subsequently referred to PGIMS-Rohtak, where he succumbed to his injuries. Deepak, who had recently been selected for the Indian Air Force and was scheduled to join shortly, remains hospitalized.
Community Reaction
The accident has plunged the local community into grief. Both Mukul and Nishant were reportedly preparing for careers in the defence sector, specifically aiming for the Indian Air Force. A villager lamented, "Nishant and Mukul were also preparing for an Air Force recruitment examination. The tragic accident cut short the promising futures of both youths, sending shockwaves across the region." Jhajjar Congress MLA and former education minister Geeta Bhukkal visited the Civil Hospital upon learning of the incident. She met the bereaved families, expressed her condolences, and offered support.
Investigation Underway
The police have registered a case against the driver of the pickup vehicle and have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. Authorities are examining the scene and gathering evidence to determine the exact cause of the collision. The incident highlights the dangers on the Jhajjar-Bahadurgarh road, where speeding vehicles often pose risks to commuters.
