Tyre Burst Leads to Deadly SUV Rollover in Sahibganj District
A tragic road accident claimed one life and left six people injured in Sahibganj district on Monday. The incident occurred when a speeding SUV overturned near Shampur village.
The vehicle was traveling on the Borio-Boarijor main road under Borio police station limits. Police officials reported that the driver lost control after one of the SUV's tyres burst during the journey.
Vehicle Plunges into Deep Ditch
The SUV veered off the road and fell into a ditch approximately fifteen feet deep. The passengers were en route from Godda district to attend a shradh ceremony in Rajmhal, located within Sahibganj district.
Authorities identified the deceased driver as Shakti Mirdha. Six other individuals sustained injuries in the crash.
Injured Victims Receive Medical Treatment
The injured passengers included Radhe Mirdha (50), Kishan Mirdha (18), Pradeep Mirdha (32), Mahesh Oraon (55), Sandeep Mirdha (35), Bambam Mirdha (30), and Shivam Kumar Sah (30). All victims were promptly admitted to the Borio community health centre for necessary treatment.
Police confirmed that every injured person resides in Bada Simra under Lalmatia police station limits of Godda district.
Police Statement on the Fatal Incident
Sudhir Tiwari, the assistant sub-inspector of Borio police station, provided details about the rescue operation. He stated that emergency responders evacuated the driver along with the other injured passengers from the crash site.
"The doctors declared him dead at the community health centre," Tiwari said regarding the deceased driver. Medical personnel attended to all injured individuals at the facility.
This accident highlights ongoing road safety concerns in the region. Local authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the tyre failure and subsequent loss of vehicle control.
