Uma Bharti's Relative Targeted in Tikamgarh Over Social Media Post

In a disturbing incident in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, a relative of former Chief Minister Uma Bharti has reportedly faced serious threats, both online and in person, following a social media post. The events have prompted a police investigation into the matter, highlighting concerns over digital harassment and personal safety.

Escalation from Online Comment to Physical Threat

According to official reports, Umita Rahul Lodhi, who serves as the district panchayat president, shared a post on social media on February 21. The following day, on February 22, an unidentified account responded to this post with a threatening comment, warning of dire consequences. This online threat quickly escalated into a physical confrontation later that same night.

Two unidentified individuals allegedly arrived at Lodhi's residence in Tikamgarh, where they verbally abused and threatened her family before fleeing the scene. Their identities remain unknown, as they left before any authorities could intervene, adding to the urgency of the investigation.

Police Action and Investigation Underway

In response to these alarming events, Umita Lodhi filed a written complaint at the Dehat police station on February 23. The complaint detailed both the initial online threat and the subsequent late-night incident at her home. Acting swiftly, the police registered a case against unidentified persons and have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

Chandrajeet Yadav, the in-charge of Tikamgarh Dehat police station, provided insights into the ongoing probe. "On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against unidentified persons. We are seeking the help of the cyber cell to identify the person who posted the comment. Whether the ones who reached their house were the same persons who made the comment is also a part of the investigation. Things will be clear once the investigation is over," he stated, emphasizing the dual focus on digital and physical aspects of the case.

The police are examining both angles closely: the threatening social media comment and the appearance of the unidentified individuals at the residence. This approach aims to determine any potential links between the online and offline threats, ensuring a thorough inquiry into the safety and security concerns raised by this incident.
