Woman's Body Found in Suitcase in Kaithal Drain, Police Probe Murder
Unidentified woman's body found in suitcase in Haryana drain

In a shocking discovery, the body of an unidentified woman was found stuffed inside a blue suitcase in a drain in Haryana's Kaithal district on Tuesday. The grim find has sent waves of alarm through the region, prompting a major police investigation.

Farmers Make Grim Discovery

The incident came to light when farmers from Sheela Khera village noticed stray dogs dragging the suitcase between 3 and 4 pm. Upon closer inspection, they made the horrifying discovery and immediately alerted the local authorities. Inspector Geeta Singh, the SHO of the women's police station, confirmed the sequence of events.

Details of the Victim and Evidence

The victim is estimated to be around 30 years of age, but her identity remains a mystery. Investigators have found rope-like marks on her neck, strongly indicating that she was strangled to death. Two dresses were also recovered from inside the suitcase alongside the body.

Police sources suggest the body appears to be several days old and was swollen, likely from being submerged in water. A key piece of evidence being used for identification is a tattoo on the victim's hand. The body has been kept at the civil hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

Police Investigation Underway

A forensic team has been deployed to the scene to collect crucial evidence. The police have circulated details of the case and the victim's description to all neighbouring police stations in an effort to identify her and track down the perpetrators.

This tragic incident echoes a similar case from earlier this year. On March 1, the body of 22-year-old Congress worker Himani Narwal was found in a suitcase near the Sampla bus stand flyover in Rohtak, which had triggered significant public outrage. The Kaithal police are now working to determine if there are any connections or if this is an isolated crime.
