UP School Manager Misbehaves with Parents Over Notebooks

A video from Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district has sparked outrage on social media, showing a school manager misbehaving with parents of a child. The incident reportedly began over a disagreement regarding the purchase of schoolbooks, with the manager losing her temper and using offensive language.

Education Officer Takes Action

Following the incident on April 24, Hardoi's basic education officer Ajit Singh issued a statement on Monday stating that the school manager, Mamta Mishra, was prima facie found guilty of using abusive language. An inspection also revealed other irregularities in the school's functioning.

"We have sent her a notice asking her not to enter the school premises till the investigations are complete. Failure to comply with this directive will lead to legal proceedings," Singh said. He added that the block education officer, DL Rana, has been asked to lodge an FIR against the school due to the irregularities found.

Parents' Account

When contacted, the parents said, "After buying the entire book set, the school asked us to purchase three notebooks, each costing Rs 400, from the school. We went to seek some time to purchase them as there was a financial crisis at home. But the manager didn't listen and abused us badly."

Manager's Apology

After the video went viral, Mishra recorded another video apologising for her rude behaviour and alleging that the parents had been pressurising her to waive their child's fee for a few days.
