A shocking act of violence rattled the holy city of Varanasi late on Sunday night, as unidentified individuals used explosives to blow up a three-storey house belonging to a member of the transgender community. The incident has sent waves of fear and anger through the local area.
Midnight Terror in Moharganj
The targeted house, located near the Moharganj police outpost in the Balua police station area of Chandauli district, was home to Khushboo Kinnar and several other transgender persons. The attack occurred around 12 midnight, with the force of the blast causing the entire neighbourhood to shake.
Residents reported hearing the deafening sound of the explosion far and wide. Within moments, the structure was completely engulfed in a thick cloud of smoke. More than 12 people were sleeping inside the house at the time. The sudden explosion caused immediate chaos, with occupants rushing out into the night to save their lives.
Miraculous Escape and Collapse
Miraculously, no casualties were reported from the incident, despite the sheer scale of the destruction. However, the powerful blast completely collapsed the three-storey building, reducing it to rubble. The house was a known residence for many transgender individuals from the surrounding area, making the attack particularly sinister.
In the aftermath, authorities swiftly moved to control the situation. An additional police force was deployed in the area to maintain peace and order, preventing any potential escalation of tensions following the alarming event.
Investigation Launched to Nab Culprits
