Woman Advocate Assaulted in Aishbagh for Asking to Slow Down

A 37-year-old woman advocate was allegedly assaulted by a car driver after she asked him to slow down while driving through a residential locality in Aishbagh late at night. The Aishbagh police have registered a case.

Incident Details

According to police, the woman, a resident of Govind Garden in Aishbagh, had stepped out for a walk after dinner around 12:30 am. Two women from the neighbourhood were also walking ahead of her when a car sped past, forcing her to step off the road to avoid being hit.

A short while later, the same driver returned in the car. The woman stopped him and advised him to drive cautiously in the residential area. Enraged, the driver allegedly abused her and, when she protested, kicked her in the abdomen, causing injuries.

Response and Investigation

Hearing her screams, local residents and the two women rushed to the spot. The driver allegedly threatened to kill her before fleeing. The complainant woman told police that she knows the accused.
