A case was registered on Thursday after a cab driver alleged she was stopped and assaulted by an unidentified motorcyclist on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway in Gurgaon. The complainant, identified as Rajni, a resident of Badarpur in Delhi, works as a cab driver in the Delhi-NCR region.
Incident Details
According to her complaint, the incident occurred around 3:30 am on Wednesday while she was traveling from Delhi to Gurgaon. Near Ambience Mall, a biker reportedly brought his motorcycle in front of her cab, forcing her to apply emergency brakes and stop the vehicle. Rajni alleged that the accused then began misbehaving with her. When she objected, he allegedly slapped her before fleeing the spot.
Police Response
A senior police officer stated, "The incident reportedly took place on the Rajokri-Ambience Mall stretch. We are verifying the allegations and have registered a case based on the complaint. The accused has not been arrested yet." Police are examining CCTV footage from cameras installed near the spot to identify the motorcycle registration number and trace the accused.
Legal Action
The case has been registered under sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 126 (wrongful restraint) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at DLF Phase-3 police station. Investigations are ongoing.
