In a tragic incident in Indore, a woman was found hanging inside her home in the Khudel area, while her husband allegedly attempted suicide by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon. The couple's two children discovered them and alerted other family members.
The woman, identified as Jyoti, succumbed to her injuries, while her husband Balram is currently undergoing treatment at MY Hospital. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Bihadia village, according to Khudel police.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the couple, married for nearly 12 years, had an argument shortly before the incident. Police said that after the dispute, Jyoti allegedly sent their two children out to play and later hanged herself inside the house. Balram then reportedly used a sharp-edged weapon to slit his throat.
When the children returned home, they found both parents in a critical condition and immediately informed relatives. Police arrived at the scene after receiving the information. Jyoti was taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Balram was subsequently referred to MY Hospital in Indore for further treatment.
DSP Umakant Choudhary confirmed that the body was handed over to the family after a postmortem examination. The police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident.
