A 26-year-old woman in Ahmedabad has filed a complaint with the Sola police, alleging that a man known to her family stabbed her in the leg after she rejected his demand for a sexual relationship. The incident occurred on June 13, following a series of events that began a day earlier.
The Incident
According to the FIR registered on Tuesday, the woman was staying alone at her mother’s residence in the Vasantnagar area of Gota while her mother was out of town. On June 12, the accused visited the house. During their conversation, the woman’s husband arrived and, suspecting an inappropriate relationship, argued with the visitor. Both men eventually left the premises.
Later, the accused returned and advised the woman not to stay alone, claiming her husband had misunderstood the situation. He offered to arrange alternative accommodation and booked a hotel room near Vaishnodevi-Ognaj Road. In the early hours of June 13, he took her to the hotel.
The Attack
That afternoon, the accused brought food and stayed in the room. During an evening conversation, he allegedly demanded a sexual relationship. When the woman refused, he became aggressive, abused her, and pressured her. The woman then called the accused’s wife and informed her of his demands.
Enraged by the call, the accused pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman in her right leg, causing serious injuries. The accused’s wife later arrived at the hotel and took the victim to Sola Civil Hospital, where she received treatment.
Police Action
Based on the complaint, Sola police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the allegations. The accused remains at large, and authorities are working to apprehend him.
This incident highlights the dangers women face when rejecting unwanted advances. The victim’s bravery in reporting the crime and seeking help is commendable.
