Misrod police in Bhopal have registered a case of attempt to murder against a youth who allegedly tried to run over bouncers and a group of friends with his SUV after being denied entry into a bar-cum-restaurant on Hoshangabad Road. The incident left a 27-year-old man critically injured.
Incident Details
According to the FIR, the complainant Mohit Dangi, along with Utkarsh Patel, Mohit Davle, Shashank Malviya, and Shreshth Parmar, had gone to a bar and restaurant in Misrod shortly after midnight on June 18. They found the bar closed and met Aryan Tiwari outside, who was already involved in an argument with bouncers after being denied entry. Aryan Tiwari was known to Utkarsh Patel, and both were friends.
Police said Utkarsh tried to pacify Aryan and his friends, advising them not to quarrel as the establishment had shut for the day. During the argument, Aditya Sharma, a friend of Aryan Tiwari, allegedly abused Utkarsh and attempted to assault him, but the matter was soon defused.
The Attack
The group later moved towards the service road near an automobile showroom, where they were chatting with the three bouncers. According to police, Aditya returned in a black SUV and waited nearby. After some of his companions including Aryan left in another vehicle, he allegedly accelerated towards the group with the intention of mowing them down.
Mohit Dangi, the bouncers, and others managed to jump towards the divider and escaped narrowly. However, Utkarsh failed to move in time and was struck by the SUV. He was flung onto the service road and sustained severe injuries to his head and limbs. He lost consciousness and was initially taken to a private hospital in Misrod before being shifted to another facility in Chunabhatti, where he remains critical.
Police Action
Police said the accused, identified as Aditya Sharma, a resident of Awadhpuri, fled after the incident. The complaint was lodged by Mohit Dangi, a friend of the injured youth, Utkarsh Patel. Misrod police on Friday night registered a case of attempt to murder against Aditya Sharma.
Authorities are investigating the matter and searching for the accused. Further updates are awaited.
