A tragic road accident in Shimla district claimed one life and left four others injured on Friday when a car veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near Jogni, an area under the jurisdiction of Rampur Police Station. According to Shimla police, the vehicle was carrying five occupants at the time of the incident.
Victim and Injured Identified
The deceased has been identified as Peeki (40), a resident of Rampur, who was driving the car. The injured individuals are Sarjan (36), Jyoti Prakash (37), Lalit (27), and Jai Prakash (29), all residents of Munish village in Bahli, Rampur subdivision. All four were promptly admitted to Khaneri Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Shimla Police stated, "One person died in the accident, while four others sustained injuries and are under treatment at Khaneri Hospital. Further investigation into the cause of the accident is under way."
