Three migrant laborers were killed after a speeding vehicle struck them on the Ambala-Jagadhri road under the jurisdiction of Saha police station on Wednesday. The victims died on the spot, and the accused driver fled the scene with the vehicle.
Victims identified as Rohit, Manish, and Sohal
The deceased were identified as Rohit, Manish, and Sohal, all migrant laborers. It is suspected that the victims were carrying a large log of wood on foot when they were hit by a speeding heavy vehicle. The impact was fatal, and the three men died instantly.
Upon receiving information, officials from Saha police station reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the civil hospital in Ambala Cantonment for postmortem. The police are investigating the incident.
Police investigation underway
SHO of Saha police station, Karambir, stated, “The dead bodies were shifted for the postmortem but their relatives are yet to arrive. Once they reach, the postmortem will be conducted. It seems that the vehicle involved in the accident was a canter, however it is yet to be traced. Further investigation in the matter is on.”
The accident occurred on a busy stretch of the Ambala-Jagadhri road, which has seen several accidents in the past. The police have launched a search for the driver and the vehicle involved.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local migrant laborer community. Residents have called for better road safety measures and stricter enforcement of traffic laws to prevent such tragedies in the future. The police have urged anyone with information about the accident to come forward.
