Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh this Wednesday. He accused them of taking lessons from China on establishing a one-party political system.
Direct Allegations Against BJP and RSS
Akhilesh Yadav made these remarks in Lucknow. He pointed to recent meetings between a Communist Party of China delegation and both BJP and RSS leaders in Delhi. The CPC leads the government in China, where only one party contests elections and controls all political influence.
"Till recently, the BJP and RSS were championing swadeshi and opposing imports from China," Akhilesh stated. "Now they are welcoming China. It appears as if BJP and RSS are taking a masterclass on one-party rule."
Questioning the Anti-China Stance
The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister questioned the sincerity of the BJP's earlier positions. He asked whether the opposition to Chinese goods was merely a tactic to mislead supporters.
"Was all this opposition and boycott of China and Chinese goods simply meant to mislead the supporters?" Akhilesh demanded. He claimed BJP supporters who advocated boycotting Chinese products must feel cheated today.
He also made a pointed remark about the RSS's status. "It is another issue that the visitors don't know that the people they are meeting are not even registered entities," he said, referring to the Sangh.
Call to Action for 2027 Elections
Addressing party workers at the SP headquarters, Akhilesh described the RSS as the world's most dangerous family. He urged party cadres to remain vigilant against both the BJP and RSS.
"To save Indian democracy and the Constitution, the BJP must be removed from government in the 2027 assembly elections," he declared.
He accused the BJP of misleading people with false promises. As an example, he cited the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. "They talked about infiltrators to push for this revision," he explained. "But when the SIR was completed and no infiltrators were found, they went quiet on it."
Comments on Sambhal Police Case
Akhilesh Yadav also referenced recent developments in Sambhal. A district court there ordered filing an FIR against twelve policemen for opening fire during violence at the Shahi Jama Masjid survey in November 2024.
"Now the police will have to fend for themselves," he said. "None of their political masters will come to their rescue."
Sambhal Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar Bishnoi has called the court order illegal. He stated that an appeal will be filed with the appropriate forum.
Broader Political Implications
Akhilesh suggested the meetings between Chinese and Indian political groups were not spontaneous. He claimed preparations for such interactions had been underway for years.
The SP chief's statements come during heightened political tensions in Uttar Pradesh. His comments reflect growing concerns about democratic norms and foreign political influences.
These allegations add to ongoing debates about India's political direction and international relationships. The timing coincides with important electoral preparations across several states.
