Amul and Mother Dairy have announced a price hike of Rs 2 per litre on milk across India, effective from May 14. The decision was confirmed by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets Amul products, and Mother Dairy, a subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board.

The GCMMF stated that the price revision is necessary to sustain remunerative milk prices for milk producers. By ensuring better returns, the move aims to encourage dairy farmers to increase milk production.
