RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Urges Bangladeshi Hindus to Unite for Political Security

In a significant address, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has called upon the Hindu community in Bangladesh to unite and confront the challenging atmosphere that has emerged following the ouster of Sheikh Hasina and the subsequent surge in anti-India sentiments. Bhagwat emphasized that a cohesive front is essential for Hindus to effectively utilize the political system in Bangladesh for their own benefit and security.

Bhagwat Highlights the Strength in Numbers

Speaking at a two-day lecture series titled '100 Years Of Sangh Journey - New Horizons' in Mumbai, Bhagwat pointed out that there are approximately 1.5 crore Hindus in Bangladesh. He stressed that this substantial population, if united, can significantly improve their situation through political engagement. "The incident that happened in Bangladesh... there are still 1.25 crore Hindus in Bangladesh. If they unite, they can utilise the political system there for their own benefit, for their own security, but they have to unite," Bhagwat was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

He further noted that the community has shown resilience by deciding to stay and fight rather than flee, making unity even more critical. "Fortunately, this time they decided that they wouldn't run away; they would stay there and fight. Now, if they're going to fight, then unity will be essential. The sooner they unite, the better," he added.

RSS Pledges Support Within Its Limitations

Bhagwat assured that the RSS, along with Hindus worldwide, will extend all possible support to the Bangladeshi Hindu community within their respective capacities. "With the number of Hindus currently in Bangladesh, they can significantly improve their situation. In achieving this, we, within our limitations here, and Hindus around the world in their respective places, will do everything we can for them; I can give you that guarantee," he stated during his Sunday address.

Bhagwat Addresses Illegal Immigration Concerns

In addition to discussing the situation in Bangladesh, Bhagwat also touched upon the ongoing issue of illegal infiltration into India. He expressed deep concerns over the decades-long problem and called for increased vigilance. "We should inform the police that we suspect these people are foreigners, and they should investigate and keep an eye on them, and we will also keep an eye on them. We will not give employment to any foreigner," he said.

Bhagwat backed the government's initiatives to deport illegal immigrants, noting that while progress has been slow, it is gradually increasing. "This wasn't happening until now, but it has started little by little, and it will gradually increase. When the census or the SIR is conducted, many people come to light who are not citizens of this country; they are automatically excluded from the process," he explained.

He urged citizens to be more vigilant, stating, "If someone is from our country, we will give them employment, but not to foreigners. You should be a little more vigilant and aware."

The RSS chief's remarks underscore the organization's focus on both domestic security issues and the welfare of Hindu communities abroad, particularly in neighboring countries like Bangladesh.
