Bhubaneswar: BJP workers on Monday celebrated the party's victories in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry, dancing, beating traditional instruments and raising slogans at the state party office here.
Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi and state BJP president Manmohan Samal joined the 'Vijay Utsav'.
CM Majhi's remarks on West Bengal
Referring to the West Bengal result, Majhi said the outcome reflects a renewed spirit of Anga (Bihar), Banga (Bengal) and Kalinga (Odisha). 'This victory is a testament to the people's faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and his vision of 'Purvodaya',' he said.
He described the mandate as a transition 'from bhay (fear) to bharosa (trust)', signalling aspirations for stability, progress and accountable governance. 'It marks the beginning of a new phase of accelerated growth and opportunities, strengthening the journey towards a Viksit Bharat,' the CM added.
Assam and Puducherry mandates
On Assam, Majhi said the renewed mandate would further accelerate development and inclusive growth in the Northeast. Samal said the election results signal the start of 'fearless governance' and a new phase of development. Alleging that past regimes had hindered growth in West Bengal, he said the verdict has opened a new development trajectory and reflected people's support for 'good governance and nationalism'.
For the first time in West Bengal, for the third consecutive time in Assam, and for the second time in Puducherry, the formation of BJP-NDA alliance governments is the outcome of the vast trust people have on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's successful leadership and people-centric policies, he said.
